The 2018 goals for the H2H Education Committee include gathering ideas, events and educational materials to provide to our host membership. We want to create an atmosphere of caring, learning, support and connection with our fellow hosting community. New hosts, veteran hosts and those still making critical decisions to become hosts are the members who benefit from our work.
Involvement from local hosts is essential to the success of H2H. As a nonprofit volunteer based organization we will need people to offer their expertise, interest, and willingness to learn in the following areas:
Event Planning: We will be offering conferences, classes, workshops, meet ups, trade fairs, community events. We need people to help create the structure of the events, food planning, venue management, supplies management, attendee lists and volunteer management.
Web-based skills: SEO, SEM, website management
Promotion: Design of Public Relations material, maintaining PR contacts, ad composition
Writing Skills: Contributors for Blogs, White Papers, Class compositions
Resource Management:: We expect to develop a healthy list of local contacts for a variety of resources which will be available to our members.
Through education of our host community we seek to give the host a unique and independent voice. We seek to attain a standard of excellence with our host society which will be recognized by our peers, our communities, our government and those travelers choosing to stay with us.
