The voice of the host

Dear Host2Host Member - June's letter from Host2Host President, Alan Colley

This is a hard but necessary letter to write.

To put it politely, we are deeply distraught to see our nation - in the midst of a pandemic - again being ripped apart by racism aimed at our black brothers and sisters.

Host2Host's guiding principle from the start has been to welcome people from every culture, ethnicity and, yes, race. In this light we CANNOT be silent about the brutality we are seeing against black Americans. We believe with all our hearts that it is imperative to work together to right social and political wrongs. And we are committed to extending our hands across the spectrum of humanity - human to human, host to the letter.

Education. Advocacy. Community.

These key areas form the foundation

of our organization. Host2Host is founded on the belief that together, we are stronger.

Through education, we learn from each other and improve our professional hospitality practices.

Through advocacy, we protect

and advance our common interests.

And through community, we strengthen our relationships not only with each other but also with the people and businesses in our own host neighborhoods.

Host2Host is an independent 501(c)6 nonprofit trade association created

by hosts, for hosts.

We invite you to add your voice.  Join us.

As a retired health care executive and consultant to non-profit organizations, I am both an Airbnb superhost and a guest. Thus far, I've had great experiences, mostly as a host, opening my home to guests from near-and far-away.

"The Host2Host Conference was one of the most well thought-out, well-organized eventsI have ever been to. Can’t wait for the next one!"

"We get clear advice from a community of people learning from each other.  We are more successful and it’s fun to be

part of this active host community.

It was extremely helpful as we began hosting."
