I am thrilled to announce that the search for Host2Host's next dynamic leader is over! Michelle Harrell, with Tree of Life Facilitation, has been a member of Host2Host since 2024, an entrepreneur for many years, and has worked in both technology and human resources. She's especially skilled to take on this role and I look forward to all the exciting changes she will be making. 

It has been an enormous pleasure to serve the responsible hosting community since May 2022. Since then, I've devoted over 1,320 hours of my life to Host2Host, providing member-centered organizational support, event management, marketing communications, graphics design, and membership outreach. In this work, I've always endeavored to carry on the solid foundation laid by late Executive Director, Jill Palamountain, and organization founders.

Now, it's time for me to pass the torch onto someone that I know will be an excellent addition to the organization and one that can help take it to the next level. As a result, this marks the last time newsletter that you will receive from me as Michelle assumes her responsibilities as Membership Coordinator.

Michelle has had a passion for travel for as long as she can remember. At age three she declared to her mother that she would live in Paris someday! While she never took up a long-term residence in France , she did get close. 

An eighth generation Californian, she ignored all of the naysayers and left the golden state ☀️ to attend college in bitterly cold ❄️ Minnesota. After graduating, she grabbed her passport and set out on a 3.5 month solo backpack tour of Europe. Months later she moved to Amsterdam and became a lover of all things Dutch!

She learned the language, ate all the cheese , married and raised two amazing young women, and constantly stopped to smell the tulips . One of her favorite pastimes was visiting all of the extraordinary spas in western Europe. It was there that she first experienced the benefits of hot and cold therapy and became a sauna / cold plunge enthusiast.

After a wonderful eighteen years abroad, her corporate career with a very famous sneaker brand relocated her family to Portland. Fast forward ten years and she found herself seeking deeper meaning in her work and sense of purpose. Her own experiences with psilocybin and other plant based medicines transformed the way she saw herself and the world. She felt called to support others seeking their own self-healing journeys.

In 2023 Oregon launched the country's first legal psilocybin therapy program and Michelle took this as the sign she had been waiting for. After completing her facilitator's training and exam process, Michelle became a state licensed psilocybin facilitator ‍ in August 2023 and has been supporting clients ever since. 

At Purple City Experience, Michelle merged her love of travel, spas and plant medicine to create Portland's first luxury yurt and wellness psilocybin retreat. Now she's excited to turn this passion for hospitality in Portland to all the good things that Host2Host has to offer its members. Stay tuned!
