Do you wonder where the 15% lodging tax and $4/night fees go? Or what has happened with the Airbnb Pass-Through Registration and removing un-permitted STR hosts?
Join representatives from the City of Portland and the Host2Host Advocacy Committee for an update. The Advocacy team will share some of the issues they have been involved with and guest speakers Scott Karter and Craig Doherty from the Revenue Division will address taxes. Specifically:
- the overall dollar amounts of STR taxes and fees
- how the city gets them from the platforms
- how the taxes and fee are used
One of the largest recipients of STR revenue is the Portland Housing Fund. We will hear from Mike Johnson, the Finance & Accounting Manager from the Housing Bureau about the impact of STR tax and fee revenue on affordable housing.
Melissa Wright, H2H Advocacy member and owner of STRpermit will present a review of the Portland - Airbnb Pass-Through Registration process and current status. H2H Advocacy Chair, Robert Jordan, will be our host for the event.
